ERIC Research Projects:
After presenting and listening to various ERIC research projects I have learned a lot of new things about technology in and out of the classroom. I was assigned to focus on electronic portfolios, and this was very beneficial for me. Before doing this project, I did not know a lot about e-portfolios, I knew they existed but nothing more than that. E-portfolios are a great useful tool for college students because it can help you design your resume. For teachers, it can also help show progress, build rubrics and lesson plans, and organize information. Another presentation I found interesting was the one about gender in technology. I was not aware of the statistics that were discussed, and was shocked by a lot of them. It is a stereotype that men know more about technology then women, but as technology grows so does women's interest and minds. After that presentation, a very interesting question was asked, "do you think in the future men or women will dominate technology more?" My answer is both, just depending on what types of learning styles and personality the women or men have. I thought all of the presentations were very interesting. Some of the stuff I already knew, but it got my mind thinking about the topics more. As technology grows in our future, so do people, and with all of the resources on the computer, I believe it will make everything more resourceful and easier!

Kelsey, I also found learning about the gender differences very interesting. I didn't really think to much about the question who will dominate technology more. My anwser would be that the playing field will even out more. I think that men and women are starting to take jobs that use to be considered one sex jobs. Such as more men are entering the nursing field and more women into the engineering field. I think that as society becomes more comfortable with men and women doing all sorts of jobs that the technology gap will disappear. It will be interseting to see where men and women are in technology differences in 10 years.
I agree that e-portfolios are a great tool for college students. It is a great way for students to store things that are interesting to them or things they may use in the future. My ERIC project topic was gender and technology and i do agree with you that the statistics were interesting. When i was researching i found a lot about gender and technology that i never knew. I thought this topic was very interesting and i do think men and women are starting to use technology equally. Women are starting to become more interested in technology since most jobs these days do consist of some sort of technology. Hopefully people will start to see that women are just as smart at using technology as men! Technology is a great thing and everyone should learn how to incorporate it into their life and work it correctly!
The gender differences is very interesting. I feel that it will become more even as time goes on. In society nowdays everyone really has to know how to use technology to get by.E-portfoilos are very cool! It is a great tool for pre-service teachers to use.
