This image lesson is to be done for a first grade classroom. Students have to match the picture of the food to the word of the food with lines. This will help students learn how to identify words with pictures, and it will also help them with spelling. Teachers can do this with a spelling list, or when teaching about the different foods. To expand on this lesson, I could ask the children what food group each food falls in, and if they are healthy. This lesson can be used in many different ways, and shows images of real food.

Kelsey,
I love this idea! I never would of thought of doing this in a way where the students have to draw lines to match each picture. I think this will definitley keep their interest. It is also great because like you said you can do many different things with this as well. I know you mentioned maybe using this idea for a spelling test, and food groups, but what about maybe talking about where the food comes from. Like whether or not from the ground or trees, etc. Just an idea but great job Kelsey!
Very cool! I love the idea of using this with spelling words, that way they could really visualize what the object is that they're trying to spell, and so that word should be less abstract and easier to remember. You could also have the class spell the words out loud and point to the picture that shows that object as they do so.

I really enjoyed your idea. I really like how you got real creative and made it into a worksheet type lesson. You could show those objects/pictures for a practice spelling test. By having them look at what you are holding up and then write it down. Just a crazy idea. I know. You did a great job with your lesson you will make a great teacher someday.
I really like your lesson plan. The fact that involved visual pictures that were very colorful, added a lot to this activity. Many children are visual learners, and this will help them be successful with their spelling. Matching activities are great for young children, and I like the creative ideas you had to give the children a little more of a challenge.
Kelsey,
This is a great idea! This activity gives the children a concrete image of an object to go with the word. Children will understand and be able to identify the word easier, if they have a concrete image to match with it. This is a great activity to practice vocab words.
